About LegacyDram
LegacyDram is a curated whisky media for engineers and the people who love a story behind a glass. Instead of yet another tasting-note dump, the site studies whisky the way a craftsperson reads their own legacy code — by the decisions, the trade-offs shipped, and the people who shipped them.
Editorial stance
- People-first. Every bottle has a human whose decisions shaped it. We start there.
- Engineering literacy. Chemistry, process, and trade-offs explained — not hand-waved.
- No PR copy. No advertorials, no celebrity-distillery puff pieces, no "best whisky" listicles without reasoning.
Affiliate disclosure
Some links to bottles and books on this site point to Amazon. If a reader buys through them, LegacyDram may earn a small commission at no extra cost to the reader. The site does not accept paid placements, and which bottles we cover is decided on editorial grounds. Affiliate links are added after a piece is written, not before. Alcohol-related links are intended for readers of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction (20+ in Japan, 21+ in the US). See the Privacy Policy for the full disclosure.
Why "LegacyDram"?
For an engineer, "legacy" is the word for code that has outlived its author and still shapes every decision today. For a whisky drinker, "dram" is the small pour you study before you finish the glass. LegacyDram lives where those two meanings meet — every bottle is a piece of legacy code, and every dram is a chance to read it.
